Online Safety

At St Peter's Catholic Primary School, keeping children safe online is a key priority.

Online safety is taught throughout our curriculum and forms an important part of our safeguarding provision. In line with the National Curriculum, Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and Department for Education guidance, pupils learn how to use technology safely, respectfully, responsibly and securely, while understanding how to recognise risks, protect themselves online and know where to seek help if they have concerns.

Smartphone-Free School

We are proud to be a smartphone-free school, recognising the growing body of evidence that limiting smartphone use can have a positive impact on children's wellbeing, concentration, relationships and learning. We work closely with families to encourage healthy digital habits and to help children develop a balanced relationship with technology.

Parents

Parents play a vital role in supporting online safety. We encourage regular conversations about children's online activity, the use of parental controls, and the establishment of clear boundaries regarding screen time, apps, social media and gaming.

Together, we can help our children develop the knowledge, confidence and resilience needed to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly while living out our school values both online and offline.
